Shooting Stars - chapter 1 -

Chapter 1- a star is born...

"the world is not filled with good people and bad people, but people with and without dreams" Sakura

her alarm clock began to ring as dawn broke bringing with it a brand new day, 'morning already?' asked Sakura quizzically, 'you bet your sweet honey it is ' said her hyper room mate, she was a tall girl with shimmering green eyes and a sparkling smile to match, ' how are you so hyper this early ?' asked Sakura wiping the sleep from her pale blue eyes and yawning showing two rows of gleaming sharp teeth, her stomach growled she could smell pancakes frying in the kitchen, she glanced over at her clock It was only 6:41am, 'i've been up since 4am , of coarse hunn' replied Nate giving her a large smile,'food will be ready in ten minutes, sugar plum' she added before disappearing back into the dark kitchen.
Sakura shut her eyes once again briefly ' time for work' she said with a sigh, she throught back the covers and jumped down out of her bunk landing unnaturally quietly in a cat like stance, she padded softly int the dining room to eat her breakfast as she did she glanced into the spare room where her room mate spent most of her time, it was empty except for a single canvise board, she looked away that was Nates private stuff, off limits, a no go zone, she wasn't in the mood for Nate getting over emotional about the contins of the room. Sakura sat down at the small table in the dinning room, as she ate she began to wonder what her new assignment was and what they were like, she shuddered as she began to remember her last assignment, no, this was not the time for an emotional melt down. she sunk her teeth into the warm mist flesh of her latest victum ,a pancake, pausing only to wipe mapel syrup of her chin, she smiled,' thank you for the meal' she said tO Nate, Nat smiled showing all 2OO of her sharp teeth, Sakura  placed her plate into the dishwasher before walking back to her room. She pulled her wardrobe door open carefuly ,so as not to send anything falling, she quickly choose a dark navy suit with a black tie, ' perfect 'she said getting dressed, she walked quickly to her bunk and lifted a silk wrapped box out from under her matteress. she swiftly opened the box carefully removing the containts, her baby. it was a hand made katana which had been passed down through her family from person to person for nine generations, now it was hers, she strapped it on tightly over her left shoulder, she then slipped on her knee lenght black coat, ' NOW, I'm ready for work' she said to herself as she headed towards the front door, as she passed the kitchen Nate gave her a double thumbs up as a sign of encoragement.
Sakura picked up her car keys and walked out the front door as she walked she breathed deeply taking in all the scents of the city, from the fresh bread in the bakeorys to the cut grass in the park  she smelt it all, she clambered into the driver seat pushing fast food cartains aside,' that is the last time i lent Nate my car,'she said discusted by her room mates eating habbits, again she didnt have time to dwell, she couldn't be late today as she as getting asigned to a new human today,' heres hoping there is no traffic' she said backing out Onto the street, the drive took less than ten minuites, Sakura took a deep breath as she pushed the doors tO the office open quickly before running down stairs to her boss's office.
when she emerged from the office an hour later she felt completly drained and depressed, she had not yet opened the file containing her new assigned human, all she knew was that she was a class 'A' assignment,
'why me? why? why? What did i do to deserve this' she screemed pointing at the file as if it were a bomb about to explode, her collegeues didn't ever turn around at this outburst, as word had already spread that Sakura had recieved a class 'A' assignment, her reaction was completely normal, after all a class 'A' assignment was just a death sentence with a pretty bow attached on top, NO ONE had ever had a class 'A' assignment and survived...
